Invention Convention Procedures

Procedures for Presentation of Invention:
1. Using a tri-fold board, brochure, or PowerPoint (must have charged laptop available for convention) display the following information according to project guidelines and do’s and don’ts found in your binder:
· FUTURE:
o Name of your invention with detailed description of its:
§ Purpose—how does it make life better/easier/safer etc—HOW
§ Function—what problem does your invention solve--WHAT
§ Inspiration—why were you motivated to create this invention—WHY
· PRESENT:
o What currently exists that serves the same purpose as your invention?
§ Purpose—how does it work?
§ Function—what does it do?
§ Inspiration—why was the original design changed?
· PAST:
o What was the original model of your invention?
§ Purpose—how did it work?
§ Function—what did it do?
§ Where was it invented?
§ When was it invented?
§ Who invented it?
2. All information must be typed in final draft form.
3. Build your invention. You may build your invention to its actual size, or make a smaller replica of your invention that is to scale.
